I Can Do Nothing With Out You

There is a tendency among Christians to see the scriptures that explain that we are not under the law anymore and use that to excuse sin. It is true that we are no longer under the curse of the law which is death. The law never saved anyone, it only condemned. Jesus does makes it clear that how we live is very important. Not important to our salvation for that is a free gift, but important because we are children of the most high God.

Devoted to Discipleship

Discipleship is a lifestyle. As you go, doing what you do through the day, it is how you live. What makes the difference is where you are getting your direction from. Are you in control so that you are safe or to make it easy for your self. Or are you following Christ, walking in his foot steps, doing what he did.

How Can God Use Me To Fulfill The Great Commission

Through out the Bible we see God using the small, the weak and those of little importance in the community to do great things. In the book of the Revelation we see God using John while he is in prison to convey his message to the churches. In this example we can learn how God can use us today to fulfill our part in the great commission.

The one group of people that Jesus had harsh words for were the prominent religious leaders. The ones who were proud of their traditions and of their knowledge of and adherence to the law. They had missed it. No one is saved by the law. Not even in the Old Testament. Jesus had great grace and mercy to the worst of sinners who were humble, to those who knew their condition and were honest with them selves and with Jesus about their condition.

Growing in Grace

There must be something more. This feeling of emptiness has been the excuse for more than one person to despair and give up on God. This happens to anyone who is not experiencing spiritual growth over time. The "something more" is found in a child like seeking of the Lord daily. A child will watch their parents to see what they do. Then the child will try to do what they have seen in order to be like their parents.

There is a difference between hearing and listening. Do you feel that you know basically all there is to know about being a Christian? Do you see your self the same today as you did yesterday? Do you feel that you have this sin thing under control? If you answered yes to any of these questions then you may be one who is hearing the Word but is not listening to the Word.
Forbear One Another

We cannot do anything with out Jesus. Anything that matters in the kingdom of God that is. We do need to know where we are headed though. Studying the bible and working on our relationship with God is a significant part of the process of changing into what we know we should be. Forbearance, to suffer something painful or difficult patiently, is one of those characteristics that we need to develop and add to our arsenal.

The Dynamics of a Dangerous Church Pt 1

Paul uses some military terms in his letters to describe the Christian life. How does a military mindset apply to us as Christians? There would be concepts like obedience and discipline, over whelming power and strength and an emphasis on sticking to the basics. We are also told that our battle is not with people, so we do not need what we would normally think of a military might. What would we need?

If You Love The Lord, Show It

Do you want to know how to obey, to be a good Christian? Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and secondly love your neighbor as yourself. If duty and works were the ticket then the Pharisees would have had it made. Yet Jesus told them that they looked good on the outside but where dead on the inside. Dr David Burggraff has an encouraging message on relationship with God.

Walking In The Glory Light Of The The Lord

What we trust in, have confidence in and what we expect for blessing in our life are determining factors in how our life will be seen by others as well as well as how fulfilled we will be in our lives.
